Flames - Episode One

EPISODE ONE

"Miss Khushi Kumari Gupta," said a middle-aged man, with horn-rimmed spectacles, casually glancing through her CV, with a bored expression on his face. "GTV has been seeing a lot of you lately. I think I had informed you just a few days ago that we do not have any vacancies in our channel at the moment. And anyway, we have better qualified applicants! We will let you know when we need your services. Good day!"

A young girl, dressed informally in an embroidered white kurti  and sea green leggings, with spectacles and a small silver nose ring on the left, sat on the chair opposite him. With a beseeching look in her eyes, she tried again, “Sir, just one chance! I promise I won’t disappoint you!”

Khushi Kumari Gupta

The prodigal child of journalism, she doesn’t fail to amaze even her hardest critics with her fresh approach and path-breaking stories. Gifted with infallible intuition and a sharp intellect, she is a natural at reading minds. She is never ashamed of being driven by her instincts and principles. Though her ebullient and vivacious personality is the life and soul of any gathering with her friends, she can be a most reserved and diligent employee at work. She is not afraid of voicing her opinion and has the spine to take on any challenge. She is also extremely stubborn, and tends to judge people very soon, and is reluctant to change her opinion of them. Even though she is innocent and inept at playing politics in her workplace, her strong ethics, beliefs and sense of justice wins several hearts. And the innocence which is a bane for her career, becomes a boon when it catches a certain someone’s eye.

Flames - Introduction

FLAMES

Karma

A work written by Shree and proofread & edited by Medha

Hello dear IPKKNDians,

Most of you know me as the girl who makes loads of Video Mixes on our dearest Arnav and Khushi. Well today I am here to share my first love (actually it’s a tie with video mixing), which is writing. Intimidated I am, thanks to having read several of the finest works I have ever come across on this forum, but then I do hope to do a decent job at entertaining you.

Well even though this is my brainchild, this story wouldn’t have been possible without my partner in crime (you all might probably want to kill us for stopping at strange points or for our crazy brains :D ) who is known as KupKakes - cute name by the way.

I mean, considering Sanaya has a weakness for cupcakes.

Anyways, getting out of the lost-in-IPKKND zone, together with my editor (I’ve seriously realised that with the help of an editor who’s as good as your twin, you can flesh out a story you truly wanna tell) I bring you - FLAMES.

Flames is going to contain a spicy mix of ingredients where we try to showcase the fast-paced and ruthless world of journalism, while heightening the special essence of our favourite characters.

Focusing mainly on the ever changing relationships and clashes which are unavoidable in this industry, Flames will offer everything from office politics to hard hitting stories, envy to lust, and power to justice. Flames is a passionate love story between two strong-headed but contrasting personalities with ultimately the same motives.

But you might as well remember that this is a work of fiction and there will be several fictitious elements in this story, but we promise to put our blood and sweat into producing a story that’s worth your while.

Below are the character sketches to introduce who’s who, in case you’re interested in reading further… do comment or like and we’ll get the ball rolling :)

Ample amounts of love,

Perfectly Flawed - Part Three

He was still holding on to it?
With a firm yet gentle grip, she pushed his hands away from her shoulders. After all that happened, he still believed that just a change of their feelings was responsible for believing her? Not that realising Shyam was a full fledged bastard, not that he had understood that Khushi would do anything for his sister.
Just because they shared a few passionate moments, his feelings for her overcame his hate.
That's all that ever happened.

Perfectly Flawed - Part Two

Khushi jumped and hissed as a drop of sizzling oil burnt her wrist.
Why did she love her husband?
That answer was still empty.
Initially Khushi was in the seventh heaven realising that her hot headed husband was probably pushed by all this emotional upheaval and ended up venting on her, to only apologise profusely and reassure her every night that she was his everything.

Perfectly Flawed - Part One

Here's a new offering from my end, I really hope you all love this one.

“I no longer believed in the idea of soul mates, or love at first sight. But I was beginning to believe that a very few times in your life, if you were lucky, you might meet someone who was exactly right for you. Not because he was perfect, or because you were, but because your combined flaws were arranged in a way that allowed two separate beings to hinge together.”
― Lisa KleypasBlue-Eyed Devil

The passion started off with a simmering heat and unquenchable thirst to gain the other... and one day, they did get the other one - then what? Advantage, habit and worthlessness seeped in. The marriage cost the ritual abiding Khushi more than she expected; the final claim on the woman he loved cost the ever possessive Arnav more than he expected.

Nothing was ever meant to be perfect.

Not Khushi

Not Arnav

Not love

Little did they know, that however brutal and painful it seemed - they were simply perfectly flawed for each other.
